The bee's life is like a magic well: the more you draw from it, the more it fills with water
Prof. Karl Von Frisch (1886–1982)

My research interests lie predominately in the areas of Network Engineering and Telematics, particularly with respect to wireless communication such as in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs). My current work is on a cross-layer optimization approach to provide routing solutions in MANETs of autonomous and heterogeneous mobile robot teams. It is a bio-inspired work that follows the principles of the social and foraging behaviour of bees.

I belong to the Intelligent Robotics Group of Aberystwyth University.

Although I have always been most comfortable doing research in the field of computer networks, there are other areas that keep my brain stimulated. Here is a list:

  • Biologically Inspired Robotics
  • Evolutionary Robotics
  • Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) and Genetic Algorithms (GAs)
